Wolf Ride
On the longest darkest night of the year at sundown, the wolves will assemble.
In the grand tradition of tweed runs, Marcus McShane is delighted to present the second annual Wolf Ride.
This is a treat for those of us in the cycling community who have the tenacity to ride all year round, even into the darkest night of winter.
We’ll come together after sundown on June 21st, dressed as wolves, and ride together, howling and accompanied by animated wolves projected on passing buildings and a wolfish soundtrack composed just for this event.
We’ll pack-ride a wide circuit through town, panting and howling, and finishing at Glover park, where there shall be snacks to celebrate the year turning once more towards the sun.
Meet at 5.50pm in Pukeahu Park (The National War Memorial) on Saturday the 21st June, so that we can brief and organise for a 6pm start. Wear the wolfiest attire you can ride in, and of course, bring your bike.
Make sure your howling is up to scratch, and that you can actually ride in your wolf- attire. Getting your tail caught in your own spokes is no fun...
So. Do you want to ride with our pack?

For those of you who attended Lōemis festival’s Wolf Run last year – this is the cycling component of it, which Marcus McShane designed and created (there is no foot procession, alpha wolf MC, live band or beach fire event in this iteration).
