After decades of waiting, the world’s most prestigious sporting competition finally comes to Newtown. Join us for the 57th World Circle Drawing Championship!

Our host is none other than Lance McMahon. Credited with single-handedly revolutionising the sport in the early 90s; it’s hard to think of a bigger titan of the game. McMahon is joined by Graeme Powell. The greatest technical exponent ever to grace the field, Powell completely dominated the amateur era of the sport and now brings a wealth of knowledge to the commentary team. Leading the judging panel is Toni Hardling, nine times intercontinental champion, Hardling was the youngest player to hold the title of Grand Master and, despite injury cutting short their career, many still regard them as the GOAT.

As always, the championship is an Open Competition. All attendees (note: that’s you, ticket buyers!) are encouraged to compete in short circle-drawing group heats, with marks for i) technical ability; ii) artistic merit; and iii) speed. Judge’s decisions are final, and anyone who doesn’t progress through their heat will be eliminated (unless they qualify for a repechage). Heat winners will progress to the final rounds until the Grand Champion is discovered.

Sporting Attire is encouraged. You may bring your own custom drawing implements, although we will provide several options as well.
