Djam Leelii
PEG Gallery, Sat 20 June, 2pm

Djam Leelii is a solo performance by Senegalese performer, choreographer, and writer Djibril Sall that examines how Black bodies move within histories of displacement, extraction, and survival. Working through duration, repetition, and embodied endurance, the piece refuses narrative resolution or fixed legibility, inviting audiences into a sustained encounter. It functions as research into how audiences inhabit performance over time, shifting spectatorship from consumption toward implication, reflection, and shared presence.

Djibril Sall is this year's festival artist in residence. His visit to New Zealand has been made possible by the Goethe-Institute New Zealand and the Wellington City Council, in partnership with Footnote New Zealand Dance and Lōemis.
